A Necessary Evil Audio Book CD Written by Suz 07 May 08 Torri's audio adventure "A Necessary Evil" is Shipping! (I got mine in the mail yesterday!) For more details please visit http://www.bigfinish.com/Stargate-Atlantis-A-Necessary-Evil ~Suz Charity Auction Written by Suz, 20 March 2008 This was forwarded to me and I'm passing it along in case anyone's interested. http://www.the-4ts.net/auction_site/ There's a charity event going on for DH and there are some Torri items up for bid - there's an autograph picture and there's also a scarf and purse too that Torri modeled for the cause. ~Suz SEW - What to do now? A lot of people are asking me "what happens now to the campaign?". Well, to be honest, since Torri turned down reprising her role as Elizabeth Weir in season 5, there really is no campaign. Torri said no. And I've always said that if Torri didn't want to do it anymore, I would close/stop the campaign. Everyone here at the SEW campaign completely supports Torri's decision 100%. Torri is amazing and I just want to thank her for 4 awesome years as Elizabeth Weir!!! We all are looking forward to what you do next! I've turned the SEW campaign list on Gateworld into a "Support Torri" thread for now. So stop by and join in on the fun! We're (or should I say Weir - LOL) going to be having fun with videos, signatures, icons, etc. all supporting Torri! Support Torri - thread @ Gateworld For now I think we should celebrate Torri's decision, our friendship and our accomplishments. ~Suz
From Joe Mallozzi's web blog dated 2/8/08 Joe Mallozzi's blog (snipped) As season 4 wrapped, Carl and Paul got to spinning and came up with a terrific storyline that picked up where that last scene of BAMS left off. We had a story in place for one episode, the starting point of a potentially bigger arc.
The script was written and we eventually contacted Torri who, after much consideration, turned down the offer to reprise the role of Elizabeth Weir for the episode.
We are, of course, disappointed, but nevertheless respect Torri's decision and wish her all the best in her future endeavors. **As for what this means for the campaign - stay tuned** ~Suz
Syfyportal.com article
Though this was interesting: - "Atlantis stop trying to be like SG1" *snippet* Dr. Weir (Torri Higginson) on the other hand always kept the series moving and fresh and actually brought something to the table. as the chief negotiator, her skills were integral to the early days of the series where all things ancient were exciting and new. Higginson was perfect for the job and the series did suffer a substantial blow with absence in the latest season (even if she is lurking around somewhere in the background as a potential baddie). * Click link for full article His email address is at the end of the article. Let's show him how much support Weir/Torri has!

Torri's 4th episode revealed! Written by Suz, 09 Jan 08 SPOILERS! Looks like Be All My Sins Remember'd was Torri's 4th episode! Elizabeth Weir showed up in the last 30 seconds of the episode. As revealed on JM's blog, Weir does not appear in the rest of season 4. More from JM's blog: grapesofwraith writes: "Question about Weir though (For Joe or Marty) - do you have a definite plan of what her ongoing role is going to be, or does this just leave the door open for if the right opportunity presents itself?" Martin writes: We have a definite plan. Please tune into Season 5 for more. promogirl writes: "2) Will we see a resolution (or continuation) to the Weir storyline in season 5?" Martin writes: ...Weir's storyline will be revisited in season 5. Leliana writes: ...Why the leather on Elizabeth? That didn't look very replicatorish... Martin writes: I personally am not a fan of how the Replicators look. I wanted something different for Weir. Torri loved the jacket. ~Suz

Torri's Birthday Written by Suz - Monday, 26 Nov 2007 For Torri's birthday the Save Elizabeth Weir campaign is asking people to please help us raise money for one of Torri's charities: www.FoodOnFoot.org. We confirmed with her that this is a charity she supports and cares a lot about. I contacted Jay at Food On Foot and the only way they can track just how much Torri fans have raised is to please put: "Torri Higginson" in the "how did you find us" box. If you are donating by check please put Torri's name somewhere on the check. There are a few ways to donate to this worthy cause: 1) For credit card charges, make a donation directly at their site: https://www2582.ssldomain.com/foodonfoot/donation_info.asp?ref= *PLEASE NOTE THAT FOOD ON FOOT DOES NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARD DONATIONS FOR LESS THEN $25 DUE TO THE TRANSACTION COST* Please put "Torri Higginson" in the "How did you find us" box. 2) Mail your check or money order directly to them: http://www.foodonfoot.org/donationform.gif Please put "Torri Higginson" somewhere on the check. 3) We will also be accepting donations via PayPal through www.saveElizabethWeir.com through the donations link on this site: http://www.saveelizabethweir.com/content/view/20/14/ Every penny we collect will be given to Food On Foot 4) If none of the above works for you, please contact me at the address below and we can work something out.

Jay has said: "thanks so much for your help, we need the $$$ for our Christmas serving where we will see over 600 poor and homeless" Every penny and every dollar counts. Please help us spread the word by reposting this message anywhere you see fit: livejournals, myspace, websites, forums, discussion groups on yahoogroups. We will stop collecting money at midnight EST on Friday December 14, 2007. This will allow us time to send the money in to Food On Foot so that they can use it in time for their Christmas serving. Thank you in advance for your help. ~Suz

Please let the folks at Bridge know how much you miss Elizabeth and how much you want her back in Season 5. Please be polite, professional and passionate! Thanks to everyone who sends an email this week! This weeks Email campaign Written by SMB_BOOKS - Saturday, 19 Nov 07 Okay folks, after watching The Seer and wondering "Why did they have to sacrifice Elizabeth, again?" for the entire show, I decided that this week's email campaign is targeted back to the studios. So, they are: bonnie [dot] hammer [at] nbcuni [dot] com mark [dot] stern [at] nbcuni [dot] com dave [dot] howe [at] nbcuni [dot] com comments [at] mgm [dot] com mgmonline [at] mgm [dot] com jeffrey [dot] immelt [at] corporate [dot] ge [dot] com john [dot] welch [at] corporate [dot] ge [dot] com
Be polite and professionel. Please use the SEW Crew signature. And please be very specific about what you want (Torri Higginson back as Elizabeth Weir in Season 5). Tell them why you think this is a great character. It also doesn't hurt to tell them how your support of their network(s) will be affected if this doesn't happen. And that last part is an independent decision each person will have to make for themselves. I wish there was a way to work this out directly with Bridge Studios. But, we've tried appealing to them and we'll continue to try appealing to them, but their lack of public support for this character and actress forces us to take our message to a broader audience. Please EVERYONE send an email. We have GOT to get their attention! Thanks SEW HQ
Where to write to Torri Written by Suz - Friday, 16 Nov 07 When I went to UFC Con in Springfield I asked Torri where fans can write to her. She asked that all correspondence be sent to her agent (not Bridge Studios). So I went ahead and verified the contact info. You can send mail to Torri here at the following address: Torri Higginson c/o Don Buchwald & Associates 6500 Wilshire Boulevard Suite 2200 Los Angeles, CA 90048 ~Suz

I saw Torri at United Fan Con this weekend! Written by Suz - Monday, 05 Nov 07 A more lengthy con report will be forthcoming, but she wants me to give everyone at SEW a big hug and to thank you all for your support! She really appreciates it! Here is the surprise gift I gave her: http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f389/Suzotchka/NYCTorri069a.jpg She totally loved it and on my autograph pic she wrote: "To Sue, can't thank you enough for all your support and love." And at the top she added: "& Sedge says thanks too. X" I also got my pic taken with her and she put the SEW pin in the pic in the picture! She also said she is not allowed to say what her 4th episode is. I am on vacation until the 10th. I'll have more detailed con report and pictures after that. If you were at the con and want to submit photos and/or a con report, please let me know. ~Suz Good Evening SEW Crew! Written by SMB_BOOKS - Friday, 02 Oct 07
It’s time for “Round 2” on our weekly email campaign. The targets for November 4th – November 10th are the studios and networks above Bridge Studios who have ownership in the show. We feel that, to really get our message out and be heard, it is important to email TPTB who are ABOVE Bridge Studios. While we want to continue our dialogue with Bridge Studios and feel it is important to the campaign, we also feel it is time to get our message to a broader and potentially more influential audience. Below is a lengthy list of email addresses for the studios/networks/companies who have an interest/investment in Stargate Atlantis. We ask that you copy and paste these addresses into an email and send one message to the entire group. Now that you know WHO to send your email to, here’s just a few notes on email content….. Show how you supported the show prior to the casting changes in Season 4: Here’s a list of examples – pick the ones which apply to you or include your own unique list….. *You watched the show live *You bought the DVDs *You bought other SGA memorabilia – calendars, books, t-shirts, etc. *You participated in online communities to discuss the show *Others???? Explain why you are currently unhappy with the show: Show Runners have taken Torri Higginson from a full-time character – the lovely and talented Dr. Elizabeth Weir – and booted her to recurring status with only 4 episodes in Season 4. Describe how has this decision impacted your support of the show: *You’re only watching Torri’s episodes for Season 4, or you’re not watching Season 4 out of protest, or whatever your situation is *You will not continue to buy SGA DVD’s or memorabilia *It’s affected your desire to check out new shows on a network that doesn’t support talented actors Then ask for what you want: For Torri Higginson to be brought back full-time as Dr. Elizabeth Weir in Season 5 of Stargate Atlantis! SEW CREW: The SEW Email Campaign is here! Written by SMB_BOOKS - Friday, 26 Oct 07 We are asking every SEW member to send at least one email per week on behalf of the SEW campaign. To focus our energies and make the biggest impact, each week there will be a different "target." The only mandatory guideline for all correspondence on behalf of the SEW campaign is that it should be polite and professional. Please use your SEW correspondence as a way to advocate for Torri continuing as Elizabeth and not to discuss everything you feel is wrong with the show. We want everyone to listen to what we have to say and take it seriously. And, if you would use the following signature on your email, that would be great! Week of 10/28/07 - 11/03/07 Target = Bridge Studios The weekly email will be sent to Joe Mallozzi and Paul Mullie (Executive Producers & Show Runners) at

Atlantis renewed for Season 5 Written by Suz's - Wednesday, 24 Oct 07 The Sci-Fi Channel has given a fifth-season renewal to "Stargate Atlantis," commissioning 20 fresh episodes. "'Atlantis' truly came out from under the shadow of its sister series this year and proved that it's a hit in its own right," said Sci-Fi's Mark stern, exec veep of original programming. The show's predecessor, "Stargate SG-1," ran 10 seasons on Sci-Fi before completing its run last year. In its Friday 10p.m. timeslot, "Atlantis" has chalked up a season-to-date average of 1.8 million total viewers, easily outperforming Sci-Fi's primetime average of about 1.3 million total views. Stern and Sci-Fi's is in "a good place" when it comes to scripted original series, anticipating lots of buzz for the final 22-episodes season of "Battlestar Gallactica," now in production. Sci-Fi has also renewed "Eureka" for a third season and greenlit "Revolution," a two hour pilot for proposed series. Stern said Sci-Fi has made no decision yet on whether to renew "Flash Gordon," another Friday-night original, for a second series. ********** Okay, guys. It's time to get serious again and to really, really work hard to get Elizabeth back for Season 5. We can do it, but we'll need everyone's help! ~Suz
