It is with great sadness that I must report that Don S. Davis has passed away.

It was announced on Gateworld that Don S. Davis (Stargate's "General George Hammond") passed away from a massive heart attack on Sunday morning, June29th.

Charity Auction

SEW - What to do now?

A lot of people are asking me "what happens now to the campaign?".

Well, to be honest, since Torri turned down reprising her role as Elizabeth Weir
in season 5, there really is no campaign. Torri said no. And I've always said that
if Torri didn't want to do it anymore, I would close/stop the campaign.

Everyone here at the SEW campaign completely supports Torri's decision 100%.
Torri is amazing and I just want to thank her for 4 awesome years as Elizabeth Weir!!!
We all are looking forward to what you do next! 

I've turned the SEW campaign list on Gateworld into a "Support Torri" thread for now.
So stop by and join in on the fun! We're (or should I say Weir - LOL) going to be
having fun with videos, signatures, icons, etc. all supporting Torri!

As season 4 wrapped, Carl and Paul got to spinning and came up with a terrific storyline that picked up where that last scene of BAMS left off. We had a story in place for one episode, the starting point of a potentially bigger arc.

The script was written and we eventually contacted Torri who, after much consideration, turned down the offer to reprise the role of Elizabeth Weir for the episode.

We are, of course, disappointed, but nevertheless respect Torri's decision and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.

Dr. Weir (Torri Higginson) on the other hand always kept the series moving and fresh and actually brought something to the table. as the chief negotiator, her skills were integral to the early days of the series where all things ancient were exciting and new. Higginson was perfect for the job and the series did suffer a substantial blow with absence in the latest season (even if she is lurking around somewhere in the background as a potential baddie).

Torri's Birthday

For Torri's birthday the Save Elizabeth Weir campaign is asking people to please help us raise money for one of Torri's charities:

We confirmed with her that this is a charity she supports and cares a lot about. I saw Torri at United Fan Con this weekend!

A more lengthy con report will be forthcoming, but she wants me to give everyone at SEW a big hug and to thank you all for your support! She really appreciates it!

Atlantis renewed for Season 5

The Sci-Fi Channel has given a fifth-season renewal to "Stargate Atlantis," commissioning 20 fresh episodes. "'Atlantis' truly came out from under the shadow of its sister series this year and proved that it's a hit in its own right," said Sci-Fi's Mark stern, exec veep of original programming. The show's predecessor, "Stargate SG-1," ran 10 seasons on Sci-Fi before completing its run last year.

In its Friday 10p.m. timeslot, "Atlantis" has chalked up a season-to-date average of 1.8 million total viewers, easily outperforming Sci-Fi's primetime average of about 1.3 million total views.

Stern and Sci-Fi's is in "a good place" when it comes to scripted original series, anticipating lots of buzz for the final 22-episodes season of "Battlestar Gallactica," now in production. Sci-Fi has also renewed "Eureka" for a third season and greenlit "Revolution," a two hour pilot for proposed series.

Stern said Sci-Fi has made no decision yet on whether to renew "Flash Gordon," another Friday-night original, for a second series.
